Affiliate Disclosure

MatterCatalog is an independent catalog of Matter smart home devices. Some stores pay us a commission when readers buy through our links. This page explains which programs we use, what that means for you, and how we choose the links we show.

The short version

  • Some store links on MatterCatalog are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something, we may earn a commission.
  • You never pay more because you used our link.
  • Some links are plain links that earn us nothing. Product pages label them "Direct, non-affiliate link".
  • Whether a store pays us does not decide which products we list or which certification status we show.

Amazon Associates

MatterCatalog is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Other programs we use

  • eBay Partner Network. Links to eBay listings can earn us a commission.
  • Brand and store programs through affiliate networks. Some brands and stores run their affiliate programs through CJ, Impact, Rakuten Advertising or Awin. When a brand has accepted us into its program, our link to its store can earn a commission. Our pages also load a script from Impact that counts page views for Impact; it does not change our links.
  • Sovrn Commerce. We may use Sovrn Commerce, a service that turns some ordinary store links into affiliate links.

Being part of a network does not mean every store in that network pays us. A link earns a commission only when that store's own program has accepted us.

Links that earn nothing

We also link to stores that pay us nothing, when they are the right place to buy the exact model. On product pages, these are labeled "Direct, non-affiliate link".

You never pay more

The store sets the price, and it is the same whether or not you arrive through our link. Any commission is paid by the store or network. The price at the store's checkout is the one that applies.

How we choose links

  • Exact model. We link to a store listing only after it matches the exact model, including pack size and variant. For a model sold outside the US, the button goes to the US version and says so when one is sold; otherwise we don't link a store. If a link turns out to lead to a different product, we remove it.
  • US stores. MatterCatalog is written for shoppers in the United States, so we link to US store listings. If a product appears to be sold only outside the US, its page says so.
  • Store order. When Amazon sells the exact model, product pages list it first, followed by the other stores we found. Our Editorial Policy explains how listings and labels are decided.
