Price-checked · twice a day
Matter smart home price drops
A price drop here is a store price at least 5% below the median of our own daily price checks for that exact store listing over the previous 30 days. We check Matter-certified devices at US stores about twice a day and show each drop for 48 hours after the check, with the store, the time of the check and the history it is measured against. Drops of 10% or more are also on the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals page.
We check each store’s own product page about twice a day; the time of our latest check shows here.

How we decide what is a price drop
Only from prices we recorded ourselves.
- A price drop is a store price at least 5% below the median of our own daily prices for that exact store listing over the previous 30 days.
- We need prices on at least 10 of those 30 days. With less history we say nothing about a price, however low it looks.
- Our daily price is the lowest price our checks found that day, read from the store’s own product page for the exact model, in US dollars.
- We never use a store’s “was” price or list price and never estimate a discount: every percentage is measured against our own median, and the page shows the median, the number of days and the dates.
- The percentage is rounded down, so it never overstates the drop.
- A price shows for 48 hours after our check, with the time of the check. A store price the store marks out of stock never shows as a drop.
- Only Matter devices with a CSA certificate for the exact model, sold by a US store. The store links are the ones their product pages show.
Cheapest Matter devices right now, by category
A drop is relative to a product’s own history. To compare products with each other, these pages rank a whole category by the lowest price we can show right now, from store prices checked in the last 48 hours and Amazon prices fetched in the last 24 hours, each with its time.

Price drop questions
What counts as a Matter price drop?
A store’s current price for a certified Matter device is a drop when it is at least 5% below the median of our own daily prices for that exact store listing over the previous 30 days, and we have prices on at least 10 of those days.
Is a price drop the same as a deal?
No. A deal, as our Black Friday and Cyber Monday page uses the word, is a drop of 10% or more. Every deal there is also a drop here; a drop of 5% to 9% is listed here only and is never called a deal.
How often are prices checked, and how current are they?
We read each store’s own product page about twice a day. A price shows for 48 hours after our check, always with the time of the check; after that it leaves the page until a new check confirms it. The store’s checkout price is the one that counts.
Where do the prices and the history come from?
From the store’s own product-page data for the exact model and variant we link to, in US dollars, recorded by our twice-daily checks. We started recording on September 28, 2026, so a store listing has a drop only after we hold at least 10 days of its prices.
Why are Amazon prices not listed here?
Amazon prices come from Amazon’s product data and show for 24 hours after retrieval, so we don’t compare Amazon prices over time and never mark one as a deal. Products sold at Amazon show Amazon’s current price, with its time, on their product pages.
Where can I see the price history of one product?
On the product page, under a store’s price, when we hold at least 10 days of that listing’s prices: the lowest price we recorded in the last 30 days and, for a drop, how far it is below the median. The cheapest-right-now pages rank a whole category by today’s lowest price.
