  • Bulbs and load type

A dimmer has to match the lights it controls. By the names their maker registered on the CSA’s ledger, 2 models here are made for ELV or 0-10 V loads: Leviton D2710 (on the ledger: “Decora Smart Wi-Fi Dimmer for 0-10V LED”) and Leviton D2ELV (on the ledger: “D2ELV Decora Smart Wi-Fi ELV Dimmer”). • Single-pole or 3-way

  • Thread or Wi-Fi

Of the 29, 3 use Thread and 26 use Wi-Fi. A Thread dimmer needs a Thread border router as well as your platform’s Matter controller; a Wi-Fi dimmer needs only the controller. Apple says: “Thread-based accessories require a Thread-enabled home hub such as Apple TV 4K, HomePod (2nd generation), HomePod mini, or a compatible third-party Thread border router.” Google says that for Thread devices you need a hub device that also works as a Thread border router. Amazon’s developer documentation names the Echo (4th Gen), Echo Hub, Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen), Echo Show 15 (2nd Gen) and Echo Show 21 as Echo devices that are Thread border routers (checked October 1, 2026).
