Matter certifications report: September 2026

Key findings

1. 166 Matter product models were certified for the first time in September 2026, down 47% from August 2026 (315) and up 32% from September 2025 (126). That makes it the 6th busiest of 48 months on the ledger; the busiest was August 2026, with 315.
2. 1,559 models were newly certified in the 12 months to September 2026, up 31% on the 12 months before (1,189). By the end of September 2026, the ledger listed 4,627 certified product models.
3. Espressif Systems certified the most new models in September 2026 (35), followed by Dyson (24) and Tuya (20). 35 companies certified at least one new model, and lighting was the largest device group (73 models).
4. 10% of September 2026's new models list Thread as their Matter network and 91% list Wi-Fi. Across all 4,627 models certified by the end of September 2026, 20% list Thread and 79% list Wi-Fi.
5. 13 companies received a first Matter certification in September 2026, including Adeo, ELEKTRA Industrial China Co., Ltd. and Alexa Elements (Amazon.com, Inc.).

New certifications by month

September 2026 added 166 newly certified models, up 32% from September 2025 (126). In the 12 months to September 2026, 1,559 models were certified, against 1,189 in the 12 months before. The chart shows every month since the first Matter certifications in October 2022.

By device type

The answer first: lighting led September 2026 with 73 of the 166 new models (44%). The device type is the one the maker declared to the CSA; the last column covers the 12 months to September 2026.

By company: the top 20

Espressif Systems certified the most new models in September 2026 (35). 35 companies certified at least one. The company is the one that holds the certificate. For white-label products that is often the chip or platform maker (such as Espressif or Tuya), not the brand on the box.

Thread vs Wi-Fi

10% of September 2026's new models list Thread and 91% list Wi-Fi (a model can list both). Across all 4,627 models certified by the end of September 2026, 20% list Thread.

• IKEA of Sweden: 6 new models (Plugs), such as GRILLPLATS plug. 36 certified before.
• Govee (Shenzhen Qianyan Technology LTD): 5 new models (Lighting), such as Govee Outdoor String Lights 3; Govee Outdoor Dual-Head Floodlight. 268 certified before.
• SONOFF: 4 new models (Plugs, Sensors), such as Human Presence Sensor; Power Meter Switch; Smart Plug. 34 certified before.
• Signify: 1 new model (Lighting), such as Philips Ceiling. 631 certified before.

Method and source

• Source: the CSA Distributed Compliance Ledger (on.dcl.csa-iot.org), read in full on October 12, 2026: 5,482 certification records, 5,316 model records and 867 vendor records.
• A product model is one vendor ID and product ID pair on the ledger. It counts in the month of its first certified record; recertifications and new software versions of the same model are not counted again. Software-component certifications and revoked records are left out. By this rule the ledger holds 4,679 certified models from 404 companies.
• Device types come from the ledger's model record, or from the CSA's certified-product listing when the ledger has none. Networks come from the ledger's transport field.
• Companies can add records dated in a past month after it ends, so a month can grow slightly in later reads. We recompute every report from the newest read, and each page states the read it uses.
• A certification shows that a model passed Matter testing. It is not a review, a launch date or proof that the model is sold in your country. We do not test devices hands-on.
